It all started with a simple sound mixer from RadioShack. When Justin "Red" Sanders was 12 years old he volunteered to serve as disc jockey at a 1995 Grapevine, Texas school district employee luncheon. By the end of the day, he had booked twelve more gigs totaling $800, and thus, Red's DJ Company was born.
Three years later he expanded into video production, handling everything from weddings to music videos. His story is the classic one of turning passion into fulfillment - and eventually profit. And it's a story that would lead him to Los Angeles, sometimes London - and even to turning down an MTV job to continue expanding his own business in Texas.
Red graduated from Texas Christian University in the fall of 2004. He majored in Radio, Television and Film, and studied in the TCU Neeley Entrepreneurship Program where he was thankful to receive the mentorship of program director, David Minor. Red is also the former recipient of the Sunbelt Region Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award and garnered the top prize in the undergraduate division of the 2005 Tulane University National Business Plan Competition. Red strives to pass on the knowledge and motivation that he has been taught by providing internship opportunities to local high school students and other aspiring filmmakers.
The once small-town DJ company is now divided into two separate companies, Red Entertainment LLC and Red Productions LLC. Red Entertainment is an event production company specializing in placing customers with the perfect entertainment for their event by representing a multitude of performers in all genres, cultures, and formats across Texas. Red Productions has expanded the film and video production division internationally for large corporations, documentaries, hit bands, national TV spots, TV programs, and independent films.
